Adam, Julius, Ralph, and I recently recorded a rehearsal on February 3. This was the first time we’ve played as a quartet without the horn section for awhile. Nothing fancy used for recording, just a Zoom H2n. We played “in the round” in an auditorium we often use for rehearsal, and set the Zoom to 4-channel mode. I cut the songs up using Audacity, and cleaned up the level balance a little using Reaper. But that’s it! This is our “live” quartet sound. Check out the three new songs on the Music page (Chitlins, Insensatez, and Stolen). Great solos on all three tracks. Somehow, Chitlins turned into a Latin-Funk tune.

Welcome to the New Website (and Happy Pi Day!)
We are really excited about getting the new website up and running. There are still a few rough edges, but we’re generally open for business. Try to step over the boxes on the floor. And sorry that some of the shelves are empty. But we’re here, and we’re going to be here for awhile. So stop by often to check on our gigs calendar, or listen to some new music we’ve posted.
I find it fitting that we’ve opened the website for business on Pi Day, given we’re all a bunch of scientists and engineers that are also jazz musicians. So happy 3.1415927. Don’t forget to hug a scientist, engineer, physicist, or mathematician today :-).
